The world’s first electronic focusing eyeglasses are here at Central Ohio Eyecare. We are one of the first and only in the Columbus area to carry what the media is calling the “Most Innovative New Product” & “one of the top six electronic products of 2011."
What Are They?
emPower lenses are the first ever electronic focusing eye wear. They change their focus faster than you can blink your eye – no moving parts, no sounds. Bifocals progressive lenses have a fixed optical power, which means you are forced to look through a certain part of the lens to see either near or far. Not any more! emPower glasses have see-through, built in LCD crystals that that are charged to change the focus strength of the lens.
How Do they Work?
The answer is so simple. Tilt your head down
When you’re wearing your em Power! Electronic eye glasses and you need to read something, tilt your head down and your glasses AUTOMATICALLY adjust to your prescription.
When you look up, your glasses automatically change back to their original focus. Think about how your phone reacts when you turn 90 degrees - it just automatically adjusts. That’s what we call Automatic Mode. Manual Mode is activated with just a simple touch to temple.
